AN22 – Rosolina Valleys Loop [Po Delta]

Cycle-touring routes near the Ciclovia Adriatica

Mappa AN22 Anello Via delle Valli di Rosolina - Delta del Po

The Rosolina territory extends over about 7,000 hectares and can be perceived as a natural island, bounded to the north by the Adige, to the south by the Po di Levante, to the west by the Po di Brondolo canal and to the east by the Adriatic Sea. Of the more than 500 bird species present in Italy, over 370 frequent the wetlands of the Po Delta; along Via delle Valli Nord it is easy to observe numerous species living at the water's edge.

The proposed itinerary is a flat loop of about 34 km, following the Po and Adige embankments and the Via delle Valli Nord cycle-touring route in the Rosolina area. The start is from the centre of Rosolina, proceeding clockwise towards Villaggio Norge Polesine, then along the Po di Brondolo canal to Cavanella d'Adige and along the right bank of the Adige.

After about 4 km towards Rosolina Mare, turn right onto Via delle Valli Nord, a scenic nature trail ideal for birdwatching. Near Cason Moceniga you can admire one of the largest flamingo colonies in the Po Delta. The return to Rosolina is on secondary roads, taking care on the final stretch of Via Moceniga where a short section of provincial road is shared with cars.

⚠️ Critical points: Cason Moceniga – Rosolina, final stretch on an unprotected provincial road.
