AN30 – Bosco della Mesola Loop [Po Delta]

The AN30 Loop circles the Bosco della Mesola, one of Italy's last coastal forests: a remnant of the ancient woodland that once covered the Adriatic coast, now a State Nature Reserve. The route runs alongside a dense forest of centuries-old holm oaks, oaks and pines.
It is one of the few places where the Italian red deer survives — the last native deer population of the Italian peninsula: a few hundred genetically unique animals, isolated in this very forest. Nearby, in the village of Mesola, stands the 16th-century Este Castle, commissioned by Alfonso II d'Este and today home to the Museum of the Forest and Deer of the Mesola.
The loop is flat and fully paved, accessible to everyone. Perfect as a detour from Goro or Comacchio.
