AN31 – Valli di Comacchio Loop [Po Delta]

The AN31 Loop circles the Valli di Comacchio, a coastal lagoon separated from the Adriatic Sea and one of Italy's most important ecosystems for waterfowl. From the Argine degli Angeli — the embankment that runs over the water — the landscape is surreal: water on the left, water on the right, and an enormous sky above.

Comacchio, the town of canals and smoked eel, is just a few kilometres away. The loop is flat, easy and of great natural beauty: one of the finest in the Po Delta.
